Ibiza Town, the capital city of Ibiza, is an excellent place to enjoy Ibiza holidays if you have an interest in learning about the culture and history of the island as opposed to seeing how many dance clubs and discos that you can visit in one night.
Ibiza Town has an historic city centre known as Dalt Vila surrounded by walls constructed in the 16th century. Attacks by the Ottoman armies prompted the building of these walls where five gates were used to get in and out of the city. The walls are well preserved and a highlight of many visitors Ibiza holidays as they imagine the treasures the citizens were trying to protect from the invading Ottomans.
Ibiza Town has a healthy good choice of hotels and apartments to suite all pockets. While beach enthusiasts may prefer to stay in nearby Talamanca or Figueretas, Ibiza Town is a cosmopolitan city with a large number of attractions and an excitement that is infectious. You can always take a ferry or a bus to nearby beaches while enjoying staying in the center of the island’s culture. Shoppers will also enjoy spending their Ibiza holidays in Ibiza Town as nowhere else on the island will you find as many unique shops, boutiques, and and stalls selling everything from gorgeous clothing to trinkets.
