“The Crooked Eye” now on iTunes

Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) November 17, 2011

Actor, voice over artist and part-time political gadfly, D.C. Douglas (IMDb), has announced that his latest film short, “The Crooked Eye” (starring Fay Masterson and Academy Award winner Linda Hunt), has just been released on iTunes through Shorts International. But, as Douglas puts it in our recent interview, “Who gives a dingleberry about a film short if it’s not from Pixar?”

In order to get the word out and generate interest, Douglas published a blog post that asked his readers to download the movie as a way to thank him for his recent exploits in the media, of which he has had quite a few.

Last week, The Hollywood Reporter credited Douglas with starting the controversy that forced “Tower Heist” director Brett Ratner to resign from producing the 2012 Academy Awards telecast.

At the beginning of October, Douglas’ “Why #OccupyWallStreet?” video was picked up by MoveOn.org and aired on MSNBC’s “The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnel”, racking up almost a million hits.

And in April of last year, Douglas went toe-to-toe with a Tea Party PAC which led to his appearance on Fox News’ “Geraldo At Large” and Joy Behar’s HLN show.

Combine all these random high profile incidents with a loyal video game fan base (Douglas is known as the voice of Albert Wesker in the zombie video game franchise “Resident Evil” and of Legion in “Mass Effect 2 & 3″), Douglas has suggested that there are several hooks with which one can promote his film short.

“Because I want my baby to be seen, I am happy to help editors with possible headlines,” offers Douglas with a smile. “Such as ‘Albert Wesker Demands You Watch Film Short or Become A Test Subject,’ or ‘When Not Occupying Wall Street, Occupy My Film Short On iTunes,’ or ‘I Helped Bring Billy Crystal Back To Oscars, Now You Have To Watch My Short!’”

“The Crooked Eye” is described by critics as “a dreamy whisper of a film” and “a beautifully constructed 18-minute surreal short film that follows Sharon (Fay Masterson) through her daily drudgery of living in a world where she is not as she seems while her psyche is flooded by memories of a recently unraveled marriage… an intriguing and thought-provoking short film from D.C. Douglas.”

Douglas directed, edited and adapted “The Crooked Eye.”

As an actor, he can be seen guest starring on “Raising Hope,” “Castle,” “Bucket & Skinner’s Epic Adventures” and “Franklin & Bash” over the next few months.
